Barbara's Paper Bag is a small boutique that specializes in custom printed goods; such as wedding invitations and birth announcements as well as an assortment of gift items. The material palette of the store's shell was intentionally selected to be opposite of paper- concrete, sandblasted brick and a proprietary color integrated plaster which resembles board-formed concrete. The display system is a series of Maple armoires which are an elaboration of the cabinetry system that was first established in the PWC (Party Wall Cabinets). In this retail application, the individual openings of the system act as a display frame and accentuate one's ability to see the items that are offered for sale. The overall feel of the space is inspired both by the hard shell and its warm library-like display system.
