These poured-in-place concrete samples were prepared for the Dresner Residence in order to illustrate the aesthetic properties of the material. I have always been fascinated by cast concrete and its ability to be anything... The form material for the mock-ups was a phenolic coated Baltic Birch plywood made by PolyForm which was used by Louis Kahn at The Salk Institute. It is capable of producing concrete with a glass like smoothness and a high degree of reflectivity. We look forward to the opportunity to continue our research on this amazing material!
